Sad
I have no Christmas spirit this year. I am just plain sad. I really have nothing to complain about. I have a beautiful family, food to eat, a roof over my head, and the ability to give my kids a good Christmas, regardless of the economy. But I am still selfishly sad. I haven't even been able to bring myself to do my baking yet, although it really MUST be done tomorrow. I hope this feeling changes soon :(

Ok, the baking plan
I have finally decided exactly what I will be making for my Christmas baking! And after blowing $50 at the Bulk Barn, on top of whatever I spent at Walmart, it had better be good! I am making Nannie's Chocolate Balls, Double Chocolate Fudge, Turtles, sugar cookies and I am trying something new this year. 2008's new addition to the line-up will be "Killer Crack Peanut Butter Fudge". This recipe comes courtesy of one of my favourite bloggers,Cookie Baker Lynn. Hopefully, it becomes a favourite! Now I just need to find the Fluff. Who knew I wouldn't find it at Walmart??? http://cookiebakerlynn.blogspot.com/2007/12/warning-hazardous-material.html

Almost Christmas??
Seriously?? Where has the time gone? I can't believe we are nearly at the end of another year. The kids are super excited for Santa to come this year and I just might have to fake them out with a call from Santa himself(Uncle Christian). I am really trying to "fake it till I make it!", as Dana would say. I am confident I should be in the Christmas spirit by this weekend. Crazy baking here I come!

A Move to Ponder
So, it has been awhile since I updated last and so much has happened! Not everything will be divulged here, of course, I also need to update my surrogacy blog for that. However, I will say, we are pondering a big move. John has been considering leaving his current force to go to a smaller one. We are in the process of trying to decide exactly where we would want to live. 9 hours north, 12 hours north, 90 minutes east? Who knows! But it is certainly fun to dream about it and do some virtual house hunting. Regardless of our decision, we won't leave Oshawa until sometime in the summer.
Also, tomorrow night I am going to see John Legend!!!! WHOO HOO!! I will definitely try for some good pics!

Update for Mom
Here ya go! I got nuthin'! No really, it's been a busy few days. John and I celebrated our 7th anniversary on Monday. It was a bit of a comedy of errors, with John cutting his thumb pretty badly, then burning his opposite index finger. We were quite the sight!
I can't sleep tonight. As I post this it is 12:30 and I know I need to get to bed asap, but I just can't stop my mind from racing. Not about anything really specific, but many, many things. I am sad that my very best friend is moving 6775km away to Inuvik, NWT. I am excited for her and her family, but sad for myself that she won't be 45 minutes up the road anymore.
Ok, enough rambling. I NEED to get to bed. Hopefully, I can just drift off quickly. Wish me luck!
Cheers!

Corbin's First Day!
It's nearly over as I am typing this, but I wanted to post a few pics before Corbin gets home. Today was his first real day of school. Daddy, Aeva-Grace and I walked him over to the school after lunch for his first day of junior kindergarten in Mrs Pelow's class. Corbin was ready to go! New outfit so he would be handsome for his new friends - check! New indoor shoes with name written inside - check! Backpack fully loaded with his BEE book, aforementioned shoes, and snack - check! He could not wait to leave! I, of course, needed pictures first!
Corbin and Aeva-Grace
Corbin and Mummy
Corbin and Daddy
All lined up and away they go!
I will admit, I did cry, as did Aeva-Grace. We are counting the minutes until it is time to go pick him up. Ok, I am. Aeva-Grace is napping! lol

Big News!
The blog has been reopened to the public! Please, keep the stampede to a minimum! LOL Right! Cause I am sure that there are tons of people in cyberspace clamoring to read my musings. Mmmhmmm. Anyway, things are super exciting here. Corbin starts school tomorrow!! My baby is going into junior kindergarten. I can't believe it. Where has the time gone??? I am off to bed to cry myself to sleep, as my self proclaimed "big kid" prepares for his first day.

Peaches, The Rules, and F. Scott Fitzgerald
So, here we are, half way through August. Where has the summer gone? Not that you can even really call it summer since it rained everyday!! The plan for today is to make a fabulous peach cobbler or crisp. I can't decide, but the peaches smell so good!!! Which brings me to The Rules. The Rules, of course, are The New Rules of Lifting for Women by Lou Schuler. I LOVE this book. Schuler is hilarious and witty and gives great explanations for why we should be doing things the way he describes. I am seriously giving the workout a true go this time. We'll see if I can type tomorrow! LOL However, something tells me that there is not a section in his book where he allows for gluttony peach desserts....... And I finally got the remainder of my English course today! My next read if The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I am really looking forward to sitting down tonight, after my workout of course, and plowing through this book. Only 6 more assignments till I am done!!

Loves It!
Thank you Colleen for the fabulous suggestion for blog templates. I am totally loving this one and I hope everyone else does too! Both of you! ROFL!
Good Morning!
Today is Corbin's last soccer game! I can't believe we have gone through 12 weeks already! He had so much fun, we are hoping to keep him playing through the winter. Everyone is looking forward to ice cream after Corbin's game :)
Please note, the blog is undergoing some changes. Hopefully I can find a template I love that works and will keep me motivated to keep up with the updates.

Shuttin' "Er Down
Well, well. It seems as though someone I *thought* was my friend has done nothing but judge and look down on me. Thanks. I'm glad I opened up to you, only to have you tell me you think I don't prioritize my family properly. I haven't been so hurt by a friend in many years. Needless to say, the blog has gone private. I don't want you here and I don't want to share my life with you anymore. Thank you for reminding me that it's virtually impossible for me to trust anyone.

The Flu
Corbin is sick with a gastrointestinal flu bug. It is terrible and very nearly landed him in the hospital with an IV. I am committing to actually posting more often, although I won't say how frequently, since I seem to lag from time to time.
